Candy Club

Left: skirt & top H&M, sunglasses Asos. Right: jeans Topshop, top & coat H&M, heels Missguided.

Pastel have taken the runway to storm; overtaking catwalks, catalogues and mannequins in high street windows. My personal favourites are the mint colours and candy pink shades. I love how these sweet colours can be mix and matched with monochrome items, i love the spring look of the bright white oversized coat with skinny jeans and dainty stilettos and the effortless girly skater skirt with ballet pumps and a loose blouse. These styles are my personal favourites for this summer season, and will look especially beautiful with a pair of light shades and a natural tan. If you're unsure about wearing pastels, begin subtly adding pieces to your wardrobe - such as a pair of pretty mint pumps, some peach sunglasses frames or lilac lips. If you're feeling brave you can try out some of these pastel hair dyes, either full head or dip dyed (i'd recommend seeking hairdressers advice first, or try out the wash-out versions on colour bug which can be bought from Amazon.co.). Have fun and get experimenting. Check out these cute celebrities styles.

I have been experimenting today with the great website mix and wear which was recommended to me on a Facebook ad!

From the outfits below you can tell I'm a big fan of monochrome colours. I adore gold, chunky, statement jewellery and love subtle classy shoes! I would wear any of these outfits either casually or on a night out on the town! As you can see at the moment i especially love strappy cami tops with classic skinny jeans.

I have to admit H&M has some great items in at the moment, especially in the jewellery department!

Hope this has given you some inspiration for the upcoming season which i hope will be filled with warm and light evenings.

festival specs

The other day i helped out a guy i know with his photography promoting Festival Specs, these are 70's inspired sunglasses which come in a set of six beautifully coloured interchangeable lenses which clip into the classic brown round frames. The whole set costs £25 and i would honestly recommend them to both genders! Not only is it surprisingly fun seeing the world through different colour hues but the glasses themselves are really comfy to wear. The name 'festival specs' is self explanatory proving these sunglasses will be perfect for festival sun. My personal favourite is the black and brown lenses as I love classic style which could be worn everyday and with any outfit, however my favourite fun choices would be the blue and rose coloured lenses. I love the idea of mix and matching colours to create your own personal style and i think the simple round shape will suit any face shape.

You can find these specs on their stall amongst the artisans and designers at Londons Spitalfields, the Backyard Brick Lane, Portobello and Greenwich markets.

I think everyone needs a pair of these for their summer wardrobe.

no scrubs

Firstly, i just want to mention a song that i am currently OBSESSED WITH, a remix/cover of the classic 'no scrubs' check it out here. Hence the title of this post… and it kinda links to my post about my scrubby shoes.

These chelsea boots have been my life savers throughout 99.9% of my outfits. I remember when i first bought them a couple of years ago from New Look i wasn't sure on them at all but was in great need of winter boots. I now absolutely adore them! I wish there was some sort of meter thing on them that could tell me how many miles i have walked in them - they're the comfiest shoes ever, even if the leather has got abit saggy and scrubby!

The majority of the time i wear these with jeans (as i do practically live i my Topshop high waited jeans). Due to the heel and the sparkly details, i feel that they can massively improve a simple outfit (my usual leather jacket and t-shirt combo for example). As I've mentioned before, I am a student at the University of Winchester, i don't know if you have heard of or perhaps even visited 'Winch' but there are many hills… and not just little hills, they're steep hills! Which is especially problematic when trying to plan outfits for a night out in town, once again these boots have been lifesavers i can still wear pretty skirts and dresses and throw on these boots with some frilly socks!

Everyone should have a pair of chelsea boots in their wardrobe! They're a classic.

Another thing about Winchester is the rain… and yesterday i went shopping in town, got attacked by a hail storm so decided to dive into New Look, after browsing around i saw these beautiful little 'Rihanna' inspired stilettos for £5 in the sale! I could not turn down that offer. I think they look cute with jeans so would be perfect for a night at the bar. However i can not wait to wear them on a night out tonight with my black playsuit!
