maxi skirt and frankie collective

I had to share this amazing Asos split thigh maxi skirt, its probably the comfiest skirt i have ever bought! I love items of clothes that are perfect street styles but are also a little unique and different. With my petite figure i usually find it impossible to find affordable maxi skirts that don't swamp me! I have tried on countless floatly and bodycon midi/maxi skirts and i'm either left constantly hitching it up and swaying around like a Disney Princess or waddling like a penguin.

This skirt can be worn with sooo many styles, pictured below are a few of my favourite combos. (From left to right) It looks great dressed up for a night out with a chunky statement necklace, block heels (new look) and denim jacket (Frankie Collective) a pretty casual "boho" look paired with Zara wing armed top and Schuh flip flips, it also suits all basics (plain black H&M tee) and could even work for a formal occasion with a sprinkle of pearls and girly sparkles (Topshop pale pink cami and dune london heels).

I was also very lucky this week to receive these two amazing jackets from the Canadian brand Frankie Collective who sell vintage and re-worked clothing, they understand how contemporary fashion draws inspiration from the past, they carefully choose vintage pieces to give their customers a unique flare on current trends! Denim jackets are spring/summer classics and one of my favourite everyday items as they match almost anything in my wardrobe! I wish i was going to a festival this year as this leopard print silk bomber jacket would make an amazing cover up from summer showers and breezes!

(would like to apologise for my "mirror selfies" and bad quality photos, my usual camera charger has gone walkabouts, i will be sure to upload some professional better photos again in the near future!)

Isles crystal jewels

This morning I received this beautiful necklace in the post from Isles Jewelry (Etsy website link here). I'd never received anything from The Netherlands before so i was pretty excited! (and i also love getting surprises in the post) I'm obsessing over the chunky style of the gold chain centred by the stunning statement crystal! Trust me the photo really doesn't do it any justice.. I feel like i have my own chunk of Dutch winter ice on my neck! Their website is filled with statement pieces like this or more dainty items. I especially love how each piece is completely unique and different due to the nature of the crystal.

I cant wait to style it up with this basic bodycon New Look black high neck dress. However, it's also perfect to jazz up a plain white tee with some simple denim shorts for a fresh look. Keep an eye out for this on my Instagram (@natalie_greenst) It's sure to be featured a lot!

sun kissed denim styling

After a long day out in the sun, i decided to completely blitz/tidy my rooms and have a lil dress up sesh (its amazing the old clothes I found abandoned at the back of my wardrobe!) Firstly, i apologise for the dreadful quality of these photos as my usual camera ran outta battery.

To the point: these are my favourite everyday light summer styles; from camis to tshirts for this beautiful summer weather we're having at the moment! I love wearing shirts as waist ties as its perfect to double up as a layer if the temperature drops, I'm also obsessing over lace bralettes as you can see peeping through the low cut arms of my pink cami. Safe to say I will always be a jeans girl and these three pairs of Topshop shorts match everything in my wardrobe. I'm loving anything denim, white, black and pink this summer.

(apologies for the dirty mirror and the awkward selfies overload) Let me know your opinions on your favourite look.

Navy blue cami with gold buttons, white cropped peplum cami, and shorts all from Topshop / Pale pink low cut arm cami from Asos / Pink shirt and black tailored boobtube from Zara / Navy blue checkered shirt around waist from BooHoo / No.5 monochrome top from Ruby Sky London / Light blue cami top from Hollister Co / Sunglasses from River Island.

orange knit, black leathers and chunky gold

I keep hearing people say "orange is the new black" so i thought i would try brighten my summer wardrobe abit! I noticed this knitted tank top while i was working in New Look (new job wooooo) I originally saw it in a lime colour which i wasn't keen on however i quite like this Orange as it goes well with my brunette hair, darkish features and my ever growing collection of gold toned jewellery… or I'm just really good at convincing myself that i need more clothes. I also have an obsession with jumpers and knits so this is a decent summer alternative i guess.

I'm in need of some opinions as i cant work out if i look like a sassy Grandma or if its actually quite cool haha, i paired it with some gold jewellery (shield ring from Orelia boutique and the 'bracelet' is actually a chain necklace from Topshop that i wrapped around my arm a couple of times 'cos i feel abit like a dog with it around my neck) and black leathers, if you follow my instagram @natalie_greenst you can tap the photo to find out the detail tags of my outfit which will take you direct to their page.

EXCITING NEWS I've also recently been contacted by new brands from The Netherlands, LA, North America and London to work with so keep checking my pages!

Hope you're all enjoying this b-e-a-uuuutiful sunshine!

Orelia

Orelia is a british jewellery brand "creating globally inspired collections using Swarovski Elements, semi precious stones and eclectic charms". I was lucky to receive some beautifully packaged gold toned pieces from their collection which can be found here at Orelia.co.uk (and be sure to follow them on Instagram @oreliajewellery). The pieces look so expensive in comparison to the affordable prices on their website and are such good quality!

Im usually into really small dainty jewellery but i loved the unique look of this statement Geometric Shield Ring and the cute V Pendent Necklace. The patterns match beautifully for the perfect big/small contrast. I prefer gold tones in jewellery in comparison to silver as i think it looks best against my dark features - but that may just be my personal preference!  I'm a lover of wearing black even through the summer season so these gold accessories are gorgeous details to add to my outfits. Keep an eye out for these pieces on my Instagram @greenstblog and on my blog as I'm sure to be wearing them daily!

UO white

I recently found an Urban Outfitters gift card in my (very unorganised and messy) purse, which must have been sitting in there since Christmas! I took a trip Southampton the other day accompanied by my best friend as i had a couple meetings there and being girls we decided to make a day of it and go for lunch and do some shopping.

I love urban styles but UO isn't my usual shop for clothes, they have some beautiful jewellery pieces at the moment but i ended up buying this cute Deena and Ozzy white bag - I confess I am the pickiest person ever when it comes to buying bags, but this one was perfect as its minimal, small, and i liked the three layered quirky zip pockets. I love the monochrome contrast effect with the white leather look against the black interior. Made my day getting a free bag that was originally £28! Perfect for summer days and nights out.

missguided is on point this season

Wanted to share my love for these pieces i ordered off Missguided. Their new in collection is so perfect for summer, i am loving the shapes of the crop tops and especially mesh!

These are my two favourite pieces, this lace crop caught my eye due to the "off the shoulder" shape of it which i looooove, can also be dressed up or down for daytime or evening, i would have to be feeling brave to wear it in daytime though as theres a lot of belly showing going on! I think it looks good with the contrasting white jeans but i'd prefer it with a high waisted midi skirt or something abit classier. I also loved receiving this Hugette tee as its oversized shape is easy to be thrown on on the beach or jazzed up abit with a lace bra let underneath, cant wait to do some work with StampdLA!

P.S. I also finally got the famous Tumblr! Follow me here: http://nataliejaynegreenst.tumblr.com
Im also pretty terrible at answering questions on bloglovin (mainly cos I'm still new to it and it still confuses me sometimes haha, so you can ask me questions on there if ya like if you click the 3 line thingys below my pic)

zara makes me melt

Yesterday i went job hunting in Southampton considering i will need a job there when i move back to my Winchester university house, and i completely forgot that Southampton owned a Zara store, my eyes literally lit up when i saw the sign. This black chain tassle top caught my eye and i think i instantly melted abit inside.

I bet none of ya knew i was a little rock "princess" in my much younger years (favourite guilty pleasure band used to be Alexisonfire which features my favourite singer Dallas Green - now city and colour who most of you are more likely to of heard of). His name (sad i know) also influenced the name of this blog haha his surname linked in with my love for street style and urban looks.

ANYWAY back to the top - i guess i just loved the grungy dark look of it. The weight of the curved hem with chain tassels also makes the silky top hang in a really nice flattering way.

summer inspiration via my favourite bloggers

Being a new fashion blogger i have put some thought into working out my own style identity alongside soaking up some inspiration from other successful girls from the huge fashion-sphere! As I'm sure many girls can relate; my style seems to vary day to day from wanting to wear basic jeans and t-shirt, pretty girly sequin details to an urban black on black street style! I know they all say "less is more" which i totally agree with, I love wearing white and black however it really isn't my style to dress in monochrome mannish tailored jackets/shirts/trousers that i sometimes see cloned on multiple instagram accounts (but each to their own).

One thing i have realised is that I adore items of clothing that really show off and exaggerate the female figure - such as asymmetrical skirts, waist shirt ties, ripped jeans, loose shirts and backless tops. Even though everyone is now talking about AW14 my head is still happy in the fact we are in June - so in this post i am sharing some of my favourite blogger looks to inspire me this summer!

@sincerelyjules styling of this all saints skirt is beautiful! love the denim and white layering

@kenzas is another one of my favourite bloggers, i have fallen in love with these following  looks!
ivyrevel skirt
wearing h&m
levi cut offs
carinwester
@jessiekass is another favourite, wearing sheinside official and veramodal

I could list so many more but think thats enough inspiration for today - last but not least are the beautiful Kristina Bazan and Victoria Tornegren looking amazing in classic black, cream and whites.

beauty tips

Just a short lil blog update tonight: thought i would share a couple of beauty tricks i learnt today. Typical me i have gone through phrases of my life having thick hair to thin hair (once i discovered the teenage hair wrecker also known as GHD's) I love wearing my hair in a ponytail to get it all off my face and back especially now the weather is heating up, due to my thin hair - my ponytail can resemble rat tails. However, i learnt this sassy trick (a photo speaks better than words - pictured below) two ponytails directly above and below each other give the perfect impression of long thick hair! The second nifty trick i learnt is how to resemble eyelash extensions at a much cheaper and easier cost.
coat your eyelashes with one layer of mascara then quick before it dries use a cotton bud covered in baby powder and carefully dab onto your lashes, the powder will cling to your lashes and act like an extension - cover with another layer of mascara and repeat 2 or 3 times. Both techniques work i promise.
